In 2011, the human population will reach 7 billion. That's right. Seven billion people will be sharing the planet with us. About 10,000 years ago at the dawn of agriculture, humans and domesticated animals made up less than 0.1% of the vertebrate land animals. We now take over 99% of that category.
To help us understand this, National Geographic made a video show us the importance of 7 billion.
