Every State Has to Fail at Something

If found this picture from several sites, but it comes from Pleated Jeans.  Called "The United States of Shame", this map shows what areas your state comes in dead last for.  Some of them are sad,(Connecticut, Delaware, Maryland), some are weird (Washington, New Mexico), and some are expected (Texas, too easy).

Some other facts:  While Kentucky has the highest rates of cancer deaths, they also have the highest rate of tobacco smokers.  Maine scores the lowest on the SAT.  Mississippi comes in last in several categories, all equally sad (child poverty, teen pregnancies, STDs, lowest income).

North Carolina ranks last in teacher salaries which is both sad and expected.
